“ **** His jokes are like ninjas quietly sneaking up on you ... undeniably funny,’”Adelaide Advertiser
“He makes it easy to laugh... an immensely likeable boyishness... his endearing meander earned well-deserved laughs,” Beat Magazine
“A comedic chameleon, Bowring works a concept over from every angle until it begs for mercy and the audience begs for more,” Triple M
“A very, very funny guy ... some of the laughter was so intense, it sounded almost painful ... feels like he has the talent to walk onstage cold and make people laugh using anything that comes to hand,” Inpress.
Sam began performing stand up comedy when he was 16, getting his first paid work by 17. Since then he has placed second in the Raw Comedy National Final, and been nominated for Best Emerging Comic at the Adelaide Fringe, and both Best Newcomer and the Piece of Wood Awards at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In other words, he’s never actually won anything.
He has supported the likes of Wil Anderson, Dave Hughes, and Arj Barker, amongst others.
As a writer he has worked on Rove and various other televisual broadcasts, written plays, children’s books, and the critically acclaimed fantasy series, the Broken Well trilogy.
